How to confirm you installed the official Shadowrocket

The word “rocket” is not enough. The store has other apps with similar names or icons. Refunds go through Apple, not this site.

Shadowrocket is distributed only on the App Store. The store also lists other apps with similar names or rocket icons. Searching “rocket” does not guarantee the first result is this app. Purchase is a one-time buy through your Apple ID. The wrong app wastes money and may be a completely different product. You can finish the checks before you pay.

Four items that must all match

Name alone or icon alone can collide with other apps. Check all four items below. If one is missing, do not tap the price button.

  • The app name must be Shadowrocket, with no extra spaces or suffixes.
  • The developer must be Shadow Launch Technology Limited. This line is in the middle of the product page. Do not rely on the avatar or a short label.
  • The App Store ID is 932747118. When you open the official store page in a browser, that number appears in the URL.
  • The icon is a line-drawn rocket on white, fading from blue to purple. A solid-color rocket, a photorealistic rocket, or an icon with a text watermark is not this app.

You can also open apps.apple.com/app/shadowrocket/id932747118 on a computer or phone, note the name, developer, and icon, then compare them in the App Store on iPhone or iPad. If they do not match, do not buy.

How to find these items in the App Store

Open the App Store on the device and search Shadowrocket. The results are often more than one row. Open the product page that looks closest. Do not buy from the list. The list usually shows a short name and icon; the full developer name is on the detail page.

On the product page, start with the large icon and title, then scroll to the developer line. Some pages make the developer a link to other apps by the same seller. The test is still the full English name on that line, not “it looks official.”

Further down you will see ratings, release notes, and compatibility. A high rating does not prove it is this app—look-alikes can have reviews too. Compatibility only says whether the current system can install it. It does not prove authenticity.

On most storefronts you can search Shadowrocket and buy it with the Apple ID signed in on this device. If that store does not list it, search may be empty or show other rocket-themed apps. Do not buy “the closest one.” Use an Apple ID from a region that sells this app, then check the four items again. Do not complete a purchase with someone else’s account.

After you buy, check Purchased

After payment, the app appears under Purchased for that Apple ID. On a new device, download it again with the same account. You do not pay twice. If the name or developer in Purchased does not match what you checked, you opened the wrong product page. Ask Apple for a refund instead of importing a config into the wrong app.

Refunds start from Purchased or Report a Problem for that Apple ID. Apple reviews the request. This site cannot refund you or see your order. The earlier you check, the less often you need this step.

Do not install it outside the App Store

Unofficial IPA files, configuration profiles, and third-party stores are outside this site’s scope. Those paths cannot be checked against the App Store ID, and they cannot guarantee updates from the same developer. Permission issues, VPN profiles, and background failures often track back to the install source. This site only describes the app on the official store page.

After install, open it from the Home Screen. On an empty config, Home should show Not Connected, Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and the bottom tabs Home, Config, Data, and Settings. If the information architecture is completely different, it is not the app these docs describe—even if the icon is close. Go back to the store and check again instead of following these tutorials.

Updates use the same Apple ID

Official updates appear only in the App Store update list for the Apple ID that completed the purchase. After you switch accounts, the store may hide updates or ask you to buy again. The app is not broken; the purchase is on another account. Sign back into the account you paid with to download and update.

How this article relates to the tutorials

This article only answers whether you bought the right app. VPN permission, importing a subscription, turning on the switch, and choosing a mode are covered with screenshots in the tutorials. After you confirm the app, continue with Install and buy. The download page lists the same checks if you need to copy the store link.
